From the Mayor’s desk – 10/31/25
Happy Friday!  Happy Halloween!!
Final preparations for the 50th Anniversary Celebration are underway.  The festivities will kick off at 4pm tomorrow with Little Screaming Kenny taking the stage on the front deck of City Hall.  We are very happy to have the band work some scheduling magic and make it to our 50th Anniversary party.  They will perform 2 sets, one at 4pm then a short intermission followed by another set at 7pm.  In addition there will be lots of food and drinks.  Our first responders will be cooking hot dogs and sausage on a stick, we will also have street corn, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, and Surfin Ritas will be on hand with some delicious adult beverages for sale.  There will be a bounce house for the kids, and SPCA will have a booth with a few furry friends.  Our Surfside Historical Committee will have a booth and providing tours of the Timeline Fence and Museum upstairs.  Thanks to some wet weather last week, we are now able to have the fireworks display!  The PD will launch the fireworks from the boat ramp area during the intermission of Little Screaming Kenny’s two sets.  Last but not least, we have some 50th Anniversary merchandise available.  T-shirts for sale for $15, plus free stickers and posters.  It is shaping up to be a great time as we take the opportunity to celebrate the incorporation of the Village of Surfside Beach back in 1975.

I will save updates from other departments for next week.  It’s time for me to get back out there and help set up for the party tomorrow.  Hope to see you there!!
As always, I hope that you have a great day in wonderful Surfside Beach!  Enjoy Halloween tonight and save some energy for Surfside’s 50th Anniversary party on Saturday at 4pm.  Get out today and take a stroll on the big wide beach that we have had this week.
Thanks,
Zach
