Only issues caused by Hurricane Nicholas, such as roofing repairs, siding repairs, sand removal from underneath homes, and general clean up/maintenance, do not require a permit from the Building Department until further notice.
All property owners with beach front property will have to follow the following guidelines regarding dune restoration.
1. If prior to the hurricane the resident placed sand fencing or rope fencing and it was damaged by the storm, it is the property owners responsibility to remove it per the GLO.
2. If the property owner is requesting Dune restoration or put out the sand or rope fencing approval goes through the GLO. The city does not issue permits for dune restoration or sand fencing. Applications can be filled out and the city will forward to the GLO for final disposition.
To all Residents the city will start final pick up of storm debris on Wednesday the 29th of September 2021. We ask that all residents have the storm debris out by the road before that date. If the debris is put out after we make the final pick up, it will be the property owners responsibility to dispose of it. We will not pick up any appliances includingair conditioners, refrigerators, paint, or any other liquid waste.
Due to a rising number of COVID-19 cases within the Village and VOSB staff, we ask that you conduct business over the phone or via email.
