Rental Hours

Rental hours are 8:00 AM to Midnight. If you need extra time for setup or cleanup, you must reserve the facility for that additional day. Your event should end early enough to allow everyone—including guests, caterers, decorators, and bands—to be out of the building by 12:00 AM.
Early entry or late exit will result in a forfeited deposit.

Downstairs Access

Renting the downstairs level does not give exclusive access to the beach, walkways, or public restrooms. These areas must remain open to the public at all times.

Key Pickup & Alarm Info

• Keys are issued at Surfside City Hall before your rental. You’ll need to provide a valid driver’s license.

• Keys must be returned within 24 hours after your event. Use the blue drop box located at the front door of City Hall.

• $250 fee will be charged if keys are not returned.

• Alarm code and instructions are provided with the key. Failure to follow instructions may result in a $200 fee.

Cleaning Checklist

• Wipe down all tables, chairs, countertops, and appliances

• Remove all trash and place it in the outdoor dumpster

• Take down and remove all personal items, food, and decorations

• Sweep or vacuum the floor. Spot clean if needed with a damp cloth

• Do not wet mop the floors

• Any facility not left clean will result in loss of deposit

Alcohol & Security

If alcohol is served, security is required on site during your event. You have two options:

1. Hire two officers through Surfside Police Department (4-hour minimum)

   • $40/hour per officer, paid in cash, 30 days prior to the event

2. Hire your own licensed and reputable security company (with Chief of Police approval)

If security is not in place, your event will be shut down and your deposit forfeited.

Booking Details

• Check available dates and make reservations at Stahlman Park

• Full payment (rental + deposit) is required to confirm

• Renter must be at least 21 years old

Cancellations

• Cancel 30 days or more before your event: full refund

• Cancel within 30 days: rental fee is forfeited, deposit is refunded

Deposit Refund

• Deposits are refunded by check about 30 days after your event

• The check will be made out to the cardholder unless otherwise noted

• If a company card is used, be sure to specify who the check should be made out to

What You Agree To When You Rent

• You accept full responsibility for your guests and any damages

• You agree to follow all Surfside Beach ordinances, beach rules, and facility rules

• The city is not liable for injury or property damage

• The building may not be used for overnight lodging

• Public areas (like the beach and outdoor restrooms) must remain open

• No door fees or ticketed entry unless pre-approved by the City Council

• You may be charged if damages exceed your deposit

Facility Rules

• No glass outside or on the beach

• No open flames (grills allowed on downstairs level only)

• No fireworks, sparklers, or firearms

• No pets (service animals are welcome)

• No taping, tacking, or hanging items on walls or ceilings

• No rice, glitter, confetti, sawdust, or fake flower petals

• No indoor smoking – use designated outdoor areas

• All furnishings must remain indoors

• All furnishing must be put up as you found them.
