Recycling: The Village does not currently provide municipal recycling. Visit Waste Connections for available recycling and disposal options.

Heavy Trash Pickup Rules

Heavy trash is collected every other Tuesday.

  • Place acceptable items within 5 feet of the roadway.
  • Items must be placed out by 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.
  • No more than the 2-cubic-yard limit will be serviced on a heavy-trash collection day.
  • Individual items must not weigh more than 50 pounds or exceed 5 feet in length.
Items Not Accepted for Heavy Trash Pickup
  • Construction or remodeling materials, including lumber, plywood, drywall, carpeting, flooring, tile, and roofing
  • Concrete, dirt, mulch, bricks, batteries, cross ties, or rocks
  • Auto parts or tires
  • Paint or liquids of any kind
  • Hazardous waste, including chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, oil, petroleum products, medical waste, or sharps
  • Logs more than 18 inches in diameter or weighing more than 50 pounds
  • Items containing Freon
  • Flammable items
  • Closed containers or tanks
  • Animal carcasses
  • Items weighing more than 50 pounds
  • Items longer than 5 feet
